When I boot my computer and open the Windows Task Manager
I can watch one of the processes(Image Name-svchost.exe,
User Name-Local Service) increase in the amount of memory
it uses. I have let it grow as large as 160,000K before
right clicking and ending the "Process Tree". Once it has
ended I have no problems. If the process reappears it
remains relatively small. I have updated versions of
Windows XP, Norton Antivirus and McAfee Firewall. I have
reformatted the NTFS partition on my hard drive and
reinstalled Windows but the problem persists. Please help.

For a list of running tasks, open a command prompt, and type:

netstat -ano

then:

tasklist /svc
