contrast and brilliance settings

I have just switched to xp and the first day a window opened where i could change the contrast and brillince settings,i remember seeing a button marked "restore default setings" on the page but now i dont know how to get back to it as my screen is too brig
ht.i have looked through display properties etc but cant find it...can anyone help please? Thanks........Bob

Maybe the settings that you are looking for are on the monitor itself, not
in the p.c. ?
