Why does my user sign on still show that I have unread e-

You can repair this in TWEAKUI.EXE > Repair or turn it off in
TWEAKUI.EXE > Logon > Unread Mail.
TweakUI is available from
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp.

It's a registry error. To fix, click start, run, type regedit, OK, scroll to
HKET_CURRENT_USER\Software\microsoft\windows\curre ntversion\unreadmail.
Double click the value Message ExpiryDays in the right pane and change the
value to 0 (ZERO).
