View Full Version : System Tray Size

MAC

Somehow, my System Tray, far right in the Task Bar, is
too big and displays the time and day. Also all the icons
are bigger. I have checked the following:
Task Bar not set to "Locked"
Icon Size not is not set to large in the Start Menu
facility in the Control Panal, nor on the desk top.

How do I reduce the size to only show the time and
smaller icons.. is this sometime to do with an
accessability setting?

If you increase the size of the task to more than a single "line", then the
clock will show more than just the time. You can eliminate the date simply
by reducing the height of the task bar.

Icon size is a different matter. Where is this happening? All over the place
or specific areas? Are you using a desktop skin?

Task Bar - I can't reduce the size of the Task Bar any
further, it will go bigger, and then show the date as
well, but not smaller.

All the icons are oversized, Taskbar and in Explorer.

As far as I know there are no skins, just the standard XP
layout.

I can't repro your situation.

Do start->run->msinfo32 [enter]

Expand the software branch and click on startup programs. Hit ctrl-a, ctrl-c
to copy the data and post it back here. That will let me know what you have
running at startup.

There is a possibility that what you're seeing is related to accessibility
but since I don't run it, I can't be certain. However if you've enabled
accessibility stuff, you should be able to disable it to see what happens.

Try Display> Appearance> Advanced> Item> Icon.
Default size is 32. Font size 8 (for XP look).

Greeting Walter

Thanks for the help, you put me on the right track, I
didn't know about MSONFO32. I found that it was due to
fiddling with Accessability. If you scroll through that
Wizard the size is automatically increased unless you de-
select it.

Thanks again.
