keyboard shortcut

im using a german keyboard, with it u have to press ctrl
(strg) and alt to get some characters eg. @, ?, ] ....
but somehow while i was chatting n wanted to press ?, it
didnt work .. n the keyboard turn to normal english
keyboard command where, this @ u get by pressing shift2,
normally german keyboard u get it by ctrl+alt+q ..
somehow only messenger is affected other programs works
fine whereby what i press is what i got,cos german kb the
(z) is placed where (y) is on normal english kb ..btw the
original msgr was in german, then i updated with the
english version .. worked fine since last year. the most
probable fault is i might have pressed an extra
button,that turned the command into a shortcut command
for something maybe change the kb language .. really
