Norton Disk Doctor reports that there is a problem with "security
descriptors". Under the "Security Descriptors Status" section: "Norton
Disk doctor found problems with the file system." But when I run
Chkdsk it reports that everything if fine.
Symantec support says there are problems that Disk Doctor reports but
Chkdsk doesn't even look for them. Symantec's website says Disk Doctor
rarely reports false positives, and that if it can't fix you've got
real problems.
Is this a serious problem? Has anyone else had this problem? How was
it caused? Can I still trust my data on this disk? How can I fix it?
If it's a serious problem why wouldn't chkdsk see it? If its a
problem with the Master Boot File how do I fix that?
Too many problems, not enough answers!
