I was installing some different screensavers and one of them screwed
up my desktop. I've uninstalled all of them and still the problem
persists:
When the mouse is in the bar on the bottom of the screen, the entire
desktop is a very difficult to look at orange color with a small 'x'
in the upper left hand corner (see screenshot titled screen2). I
cannot click the 'x' because whenever I move the mouse onto the
desktop it turns white and the 'x' disappears (see screenshot titled
screen1).
If I right click the desktop, sometimes it'll act like I've just right
clicked on the icon for the last application I ran (I'll get the
opportunity to check the properties etc.). Other times, it's as
though I'm right clicking on the desktop when you get the opportunity
to change the screensaver or the themes, etc.
I've gone into the registry and have removed all instances of the
previously installed screensavers to no avail.
I'm running WinXP Pro on a 1Ghz Athlon powered machine with 384Mb of
RAM.
Any help??
Thanks.
