Hi:
We have some 2500 computers that we needed "ghosted" (with WinXP
Professional and other software). We are using Symantec Ghost 7.5
Enterprise for this and it works like a charm. At the end of the
installation we have been running a customized program to join these
computers to our corporate domain (NT). That works too but requires a
few re-boots and user interaction.
I have configured and used Sysprep with the sysprep.inf file (on a
floppy as well as in the c:\sysprep folder) and that works fine except
that I am unable to customize the sysprep.inf file on the C:\ drive
for (username, compuer-name) for each user. This is because my boot
floppy (win98) can not read/write/access the NTFS partition. I could
make a custom program to write the .inf file to the boot floppy but
that would require the user to remove the floppy when the system
reboots and then shove it back in time for the windows boot-up to find
it! This isn't as slick as I would like it to be?
Is there another way.....where I can update the sysprep.inf file for
each user after I ghost the computer?
Thanks a million!
