We are seeing a repeated error trying to start Remote
Assistance to some users' computers (XP, of course). At
the remote end the error message states "A program could
not be started", at the client end there is an error in
the System log:
==================================================
Event Type: Error
Event Source: Remote Desktop Help Session Manager
Event Category: None
Event ID: 6
Date: 5/20/2003
Time: 11:48:48 AM
User: N/A
Computer: DAC-AHUGHES
Description:
The Remote Desktop Help session manager did not start
properly (error code 0x80070002). Remote Assistance will
be disabled. Restart the computer in safe mode and type
the following text at the command prompt: sessmgr.exe -
service. If the problem persists, contact Microsoft
Product Support.
==================================================
Starting the computer in Safe Mode and running the
suggested coommand does fix the problem temporarily, but
it keeps coming back....
Anyone experienced this, or have a cure?
