Not sure if anyone is following this message, but I've
now tried to repair my windows XP using method found on
this link:
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/tips/xp_repair_install.htm

I don't seem to be getting the nasty blue error screen
anymore, but I still have a couple of questions.

1) is there a way to check my computer to see if it has
suffered some kind of permanent damage? (i.e. what does
the error message I recieved on the blue page I described
above mean?)

2) I want to my Windows XP to be updated, but I don't
want to download anything that will harm my system. How
do I know what my computer will need updated now that I
have removed all those prior updates? In the past I
asked to be notified before any updates were
downloaded.

any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
