Can't Verify MSN Password

Please ignore my previous post.

I successfully installed MSN Messenger on a Windows 98SE
machine and chose an email address and a password. When
I log on MSN propmts me to verify my password. When I
click on the propmt it opens a browser window which has
the follwing message "MS Net.passport was temporarily
unable to complete your request. Pleas retry"

I keep retrying but I keep getting the same message

I'm having the same problem. I also got soething that
appeared to have worked correctly, but when I sign into
messenger it still sayz email not verified.
