Printer problems

I've re-installed my USB printer ok, but when I go to
print a test page a window pops up that says the "Spooler
Subsystem App" has shut down.
I have to restart it in Services.

I should say now that it seems I'd been Trojan bombed
by "IRC Backdoor SDbot" and "Trojan horse Downloader,
Falsemir".
After many virus scans I appear to be clean.
Now I just have to clean up the mess.

The, hopefully, last problem is that the print spooler
keeps
crashing.

Should I run SFC to reinstall it or replace it?

Any help would be appreciated.
