Proxy

My computer has a DSL connection with Verizon and under
the lan settings in internet explorer i have the proxy
check mark checked and it was defaulting to 127.0.0.1. so
my internet connection does not work. Verizon stated that
the proxy should not be checked. So when I try to uncheck
it and go out, it automatically puts the check mark back.
I also deleted all instances of 127.0.0.1 from the
registry, but as soon as you launch ie6.1 the 127.0.0.1
gets written back in to the registry...ANY HELP!!!

Things you could try.
Internet Options, Connections tab.
Click on the Advance button. Do you have a port associated with
127.0.0.1? If not try port 83. Then at the bottom in the exceptions box,
enter 127.0.0.1.

If the above does not work, try checking the box to bypass proxy for local
addresses.
