This is doing my head in - I have uninstalled and re-installed the mouse,
checked, uncheck, applied and re-applied the option to no "snap to default"
with the mouse, and still it snaps to. It's driving me crazy!

Would you define or explain 'snap to'.

It's a term used in XP to mean "when a dialogue box appears, drop the cursor
above the default option" ... lost count of how many downloads have
accidentally been cancelled because of this!

Are you rebooting after you uninstall?
Is there a newer driver you can install and try?
If there are not some special features you need with the mouse
driver..trying using a generic driver.
If there are....uninstall....go into the registry...and rip out everything
left of the driver...this gets a little difficult...but its my guess its
leaving stuff in the registry.

It's located in 'pointer options' on my mouse driver and works correctly.

It doesn't work on my computer. I'm using a laptop, and even if I remove my
external mouse, and use the mousepad, it still snaps-to even when I deslect
the snap-to option. (I'd love to know WHY they decided to include this
annoying option in XP).
