Instant Messenger

I am having a problem. everytime I log into my outlook
express Instant messenger comes on and when I go to tools
and the prferances and tell it I don't want this to
happen it still does it. Plus even if I only start my
machine and I ensure it is off line after about a hr or 2
it starts with no one home. I forgot to add that the icon
will not be in the tray by the time but when outlook
express is started it appears and disappears when I log
off.

Please help I have tried everything except eraseing it
and reloading. oh yes if I try to exit with outlook
express is running it says it can't becaudse it is
working with another program.please help.

Greetings Joe,

To stop this from happening, close down Outlook Express, then download and run this .reg
file:
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/downloads/stopmessenger_oe.reg
You can then restart Outlook Express, and Messenger will no longer load.
