I am having a problem, the windows xp driver that comes with XP for the S3
Trio 3D video card doesn't recognize the Direct 3D stuff.
When do the DXDiag I get the Direct 3d stuff greyed out.
Other than the obvious of buying a new video card, does anyone know how to
fix it. All the windows XP drivers I find for the S3 Trio 3D cards are for
the 2x or 4x cards.
Anyone know where to find an updated XP driver for the S3 Trio 3D?
Thanks,
Jerry

I would like to know that too, since the latest driver I found was the
edition in xp. They have stopped (diamond) supporting this card :-(

But one question for the MVPs here. Since the XP drivers are signed (because
they have the name microsoft on them) why dont they work correctly??? lol

I like the fact that they give warnings about other drivers that are not
signed when their OWN drivers included with XP dont work.

I have problems playing some types of video.

(MPGEG 4 V3) the one that series encoder 9 gives as an output.

Perhaps this indeed has some connection with direct X...

Hi,

The drivers included with WinXP are a basic set designed only to get =
minimal function from the card (in the dcase of a video card, you get a =
basic display function). In order to get full functionality from it, you =
need a set of drivers from the manufacturer. If your maker has decided =
not to create these for WinXP, there is little you can do outside of =
getting a card whose maker is writing them.

Tried both sites and none worked. None had just the S3 Trio 3D video
drivers. They had S3 Trio 3D 2X or 4X drivers and I tried those and they
didn't work because of the differences in the cards.
Thanks, for trying to help.
