I have a javascript that periodically changes the desktop
background. My problem is that when the desktop is
changed, the "drop shadow" effect on desktop icons is
turned off.

Does anyone know of a line of script to turn this back
on? Or possibly the object methods that control this.

I am also looking for a line of script that would stretch
the background image instead of tiling it to fill the
screen.

Using Windows XP Home Edition. Active desktop page is
written in html with JavaScript. What I need is the
JavaScript code language to control these 2 objects for
the desktop.

Your help is much appreciated,

Glenn

Glenn,

if you have the active desktop enabled in order to run the javascript, then
I think you cant make them with the shadow again UNLESS you incorporate a
visual basic script that will turn on and off the active desktop each time
the wallpaper changes.

You can find such a script at www.kellys-korner.com

Kelly is a Microsoft MVP that posts here on the newsgroup so perhaps you can
get some help.

There are ready made programs that do what you are trying, if you want some
take a look
here www.virtualplastic.com click on the right side menu where it says
desktop.
