I have a dvd drive(d) and a cd writer drive (e). I was
burning a cd in drve (e) when all of a sudden I got an
error message and from that point I can't find my (e)
drive. The computer no longer shows that drive. The cd is
still in there, I can't even open it. Help!!!!!!

I have a similar problem, although the DVD and CD/RW drives have never quit
while working. They just disappear after I reboot the system, once in a
while. Pressing the eject button on the front panel does not work when this
happens. This makes it difficult to find the cause. If I do a power-off
reboot, then I get both drives back -- for a while. This is a pain. I know
it must be some software running on my system doing it. This all started
after SP-1 installation, but I cannot relate it directly to SP-1.
Do your drives come back after you re-boot the system.
