I wish I could help you, but I am having the same problem!
We recently bought a new puter with XP installed...the
gray pop-ups ae the biggest nuisance I have ever dealt
with on my computer. Whatever idiot at Microsoft designed
this program so that people have to subjected to this
ought to be tarred and feathered to say the least! I have
done exactly what you, said, went into "properties" and
changed preferences to disable it, but it has only been
fifteen minutes, so I don't know if it worked or not. Does
anybody from MS even view this forum? I see a lot of
people asking the same question, but no answers to be
had...
