viewing contents on a floppy disk

cousin send met a floppy disk with some recipes on it.
the only problem is i am new at the computer. don't know
how to open and read the contents. HELP

Put floppy in drive
Click "start" then select "My computer" and double-click on the floppy drive
icon. You should see the contents of the disk.
You can then double click on the items you see. It sounds like they should
be .txt or .doc files (depends on how your cousin wrote them) and you can
open the with Wordpad or Word (or notepad if they are .txt files).
