System Restore Not Working

I just got a new Sony VAIO with XP preinstalled and for some reason, none of
my system restore points will work. Nothing critical right now, just wanted
to undo a minor thing, but should I really need it in the future, I'll be
stuck if it won't work.

Debbie;
There may be some corrupted data in System Restore:
Turn off/on System Restore to delete corrupted files:
Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore.
Click System Restore Settings on left side.
Check "Turn off System Restore", click OK, follow prompts and reboot.
This deletes all Restore Points including corruption.
Then go back and turn on system Restore and create a Restore Point.

Hi Debbie,

First thing to try is turning it off, then back on again. Check the =
System Restore tab of System properties in the Control Panel, disable =
SR, reboot, then reenable it.
