I recently installed Windows Messenger 4.7 and the MSN
email add-in, but now I can't seem to stop Messenger from
displaying alerts when email messages arrive and when
contacts come online even though I have these options
unchecked in the preferences dialog.
I'd only like an alert when I receive an instant message.
Thanks in advance!

Greetings Kevin,
You should be able to stop the alerts for when people come online, but the e-mail option
doesn't work. To turn off those alerts, you'll need to turn off the MSN Add-In (open the
main Messenger window, click the Tools menu, then Add-Ins, then MSN).
