Anyone know of some good guides on configuring XP to use a
switch.
I have a D-Link wireless router. I was told if I connect a
ethernet cable(RJ-45) from my laptop, to the router, the
router would then act as a switch, is this correct?
What I want to do is transfer large files(4-6GB) using a
hard wired connection rather than a wireless, it is just
too slow.
Shouldn't I be able to achieve 100MB per second using a
hardwire?
As of now I can connect to my desktop(which is connected
to the router/switch) via my laptop which has a wireless
card. But when I disable the card(from device manager) and
try to use my ethernet port, I cannot connect to the
desktop.
Both systems are running XP Home.
Any suggestion are greatly appreciated.
