comunication with other computer

Hello, I have seen a show on television at the tail end
that spoke of the possibily of communicating with another
computer. The example was, one person was in New York who
had driver problems and his friend in California, his
friend got into his computer via the internet and solved
the conflicting driver problem. It was done in the same
manner as the PC Everywhere program. Unfortunatly, I did
not get a chance to write down the procedure. Can anyone
help me.
