View Full Version : Spell check with Outlook Express

Every time I try to check spelling with Outlook Express, I
get an error message that it is unable to check spelling
and do I want to send the message anyway. Why does it do
this?
I installed Office '97 after I got the computer. Does
this make a difference? Do I need to re-install O.E., and
how do I do that?
Thanks.

I looked here. All they tell me how to do is re-install
Windows XP. I don't think I want to do that. Any other
ideas?

I'm running XP Pro and IE 6.XXX. Most times when I do a spell check, it
tells me everything is OK, but if I highlight the word I suspect is
wrong, it will offer a correction (if needed) and finish the post.
It seems like Outcome Based Spell Checking. If I spell cat as kat, in a
post, it usually misses it. However, if I highlight kat, it will offer
cat as a replacement. It's as if it's telling me "If you like the
spelling, then it's OK with me!" But if I highlight the word, it seems
to say, "Well, now that you ask, this is the way it *should* be spelled.
It drives me crazy!!!
Netscape 7.x has never lets me get away with that... :>))

common problem of a file in the wrong place.
try this
Spell Check Fix
Start/Run/EXPAND X:\i386\CSAPI3T1.DL_ C:\CSAPI3T1.DLL (Where X is your
CD-Rom drive letter). And then copy it to: Program Files\Common
Files\Microsoft Shared\Proof
