On some websites a square will show up on the page with an X in it. Is a
program needed to show these graphics or are they not available because of
another reason? TIA

probably a slow website that can't show you the pictures. rightclick the x
and select "show piture"

Or the developer forgot to upload the picture, or the developer
screwed up the path to the picture or uploaded it to the wrong
folder...

Could also be that you do not have MS VM installed or another brand of JAVA.
I really wish MS and SUN could just play nice!
