My XP Pro is on a reboot loop. I replaced the boot.ini
file, as well as the kernel32.dll (according to the
instructions in KB330184 and KB310396).
the computer keeps on restarting just as it's about to
get to the logon screen.
What is there to do? I cannot find any articles
addressing this issue. I have installed the drive in a
second computer, and it does the same darn thing when
booting from it. So I am assuming it's got nothing to do
with the hardware in the original computer.
Any suggestions short of reinstalling windows?
Help please?

try checking your startup folders and the registry startup file
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE:SOFTWARE:Microsoft:Windows:Curr ent Version:Run
and
HKEY_CURRENT_USER:SOFTWARE:Microsoft:Windows:Curre nt Version:Run

if windows isn't giving you an error before it restarts I would guess that
you have a malicious program in one of your startup folder/keys that is to
blame.
