In order to speed up IE6 opening I added the -nohome switch in the
quicklaunch shortcut

"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -nohome

This does in fact increase the speed of the IE, but some of the buttons are
not available until I type an address.
I know this is what IE always did, but I cannot understand why, is there a
way to avoid it?

Thanks

It's just a glitch in IE.

To get around it, I set my default homepage to: about:blank
Then, if I need to get to one of the items that is not available as you
described, I just hit the Home button, which loads about:blank, and then it
works.

Hello, Steave, I know this, but did you know that the about:blank page slows
down the launching of IE? Thats why I added the -nohome switch parameter on
the shortcut.

I know what I will do, I will make a USEFULL html page on my disk and use
that as a homepage, so at least I will have some handy links.

Hey,

Yes I did know that, but you *can* still use the about:blank as your
default homepage.

Since you're using the -nohome switch, it won't load it anyway when you
start IE.
