I'm getting this error message frequently (like at least
once a day).

The server {A1F4E726-8CF1-11D1-BF92-0060081ED811} did not
register with DCOM within the required timeout.

The Event ID is 10010.

Can anyone help with this? Thanks.

JoJo

Plug the following variable into the search function of 'regedit':

{A1F4E726-8CF1-11D1-BF92-0060081ED811}

This will tell you what program or process is the problem here.

Thanks Dolemite! That pointed to a problem with the WIA
manager, which seems to connect to another problem I've
been having: "The Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) service
hung on starting." I've posted the details about this in
a new thread: "Hangs on bootup and shutdown."

Further comments would be much appreciated. Thanks!

JoJo

Check the permissions on this object (within dcomcnfg.exe) as it may not
have the right perms to run.
