View Full Version : Cannot Sign in to All Services

When I sign in to MSN Instant Messenger, there is a
little blue circle with a white 'i' in the middle that
says "You are not signed in to all services." When I
click on it it gives me my hotmail sign-in name and asks
me to click to sign in. The prompt then appears: "Signing
in to the services failed because the service is
temporarily unavailable. Try again later." But this has
been going on for days, weeks! Is this an MSN problem, or
do I have a setting wrong, or what? I disabled my
ZoneAlarm firewall, and still this prompt? What are all
these services anyway? Why is this so complicated! Grrr!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Greetings Steve,

I assume you're just trying to sign into the normal Windows Messenger network? (.NET
Messenger). To fix this, click the Tools menu, then select Options. Click the accounts tab
and then click the option button '.NET Passport' under 'Sign in with this account first:'.
Then, uncheck the box 'My contacts include users of a communications service', click OK and
then sign on again.

Thank you so much, Jonathan:

Your advice was taken, and what you suggested most
certainly fixed my problem! I really don't understand
much about any of all this, but I don't have that little
sign saying I haven't signed in to all the services.

I am very grateful for your help!!

Steve
