Lucent Win Modem won't start

Hi, the modem on my Sony Vaio desktop never worked since
I bought it 1 year ago. I always had DSL and it's own
modem so I never knew until I tried to fax something. I
unistalled it and reinstalled it and downloaded updated
drivers. It says it was intalled properly but it won't
start, not functional code 10. Any advice. I really only
want to use it for faxes and don't want to pay to have it
taken out or checked.....thanks for any help.

P.S. The yellow exclamation point is there in device
manager and troubleshoot didn't help.

go to the vaio site and find the correct drivers for your model.
they have a great and analytical site
