Hi
Both the CD and floppy drives on my XP machine will not refresh.
If I insert floppy 1 in floppy drive I can read all the file ok.If I then
remove floppy one and insert floppy 2 I can still see the contents and open
the files from floppy 1.This is the same for the CD drive
Any ideas what is going on?
TIA

My first thought is a bad cable inside the computer, but I don't recall that
both those drives are on the same cable.

The floppy normally will not auto refresh, if you are on the file
listing. You may force a refresh by pressing F5. You should not be
able to open the file if the disk (and thus the file is no longer
there).
The CD problem may be caused by improper jumper settings.
