Saving Files

Before I reloaded Windows whenever I would start
entering the filename of a file I was saving to a given
folder, a window would pop up listing any/all files
already in that folder that matched the name I was
entering.

Can someone tell me how to get this "setting" back ?

In the Files of Type box, choose ALL FILES, and see if that does what you want.
