I have unchecked mine and my friend internet connection
firewall. But still unable to work. We both use the same

Please tell me how to fix it.
Thanks.

Greetings,
Are you are your contact using a router? If so, voice/video conversation support requires
that a NAT (router) support Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) or have some type of built-in
support for Messenger voice/video support. A number of router manufacturers have firmware
updates for their popular routers to support UPnP, check the router manufacturers website to
check or just tell us which one(s) you're using and we can look them up for you.

If you don't have a UPnP NAT, you can try upgrading to MSN Messenger 6 when
it comes out. It may succeed in connecting.

Dear Jonathan
Thanks for your help. I'm using Linksys wireless router
(Model:
BEFW11S4).
If you could find out where can I update for my notebook.
Many thanks.
Miriam

Hi Miriam,
You can find it here:
http://www.linksys.com/download
After you install the firmware update, be sure to go into the router configuration (see
documentation on how to do this), then the Password tab, and make sure that UPnP is turned
on, then reboot and it should work.
If you encounter any more issues, like John said, you and your contact might try MSN
Messenger 6:
