i have two computers behind a ADSL lan.both use windows xp.i have tried to
forward the necessary ports.if we start a video or audio conference between
the two computers it works great for about ten seconds. Then the video and
audio both become terrible quality. On a DSL connection that shouldn't
happen. The sound becomes nearly useless. Even though the audio and video
are terrible it continues to work. But there are bad enough that video and
audio conferencing become useless. I would appreciate any help.
Thank you

What specifically about the quality becomes bad? Does the delay increase?
Does the audio become choppy?
What version of messenger are you running? Version 6 of MSN Messenger may
improve this (and if it doesn't, there's a new reg key you can enter into v6
that may help).

If Messenger 6 is going to use the Logitech video thing, then I would not
call that a update or upgrade, I just don't think the quality is going to be
there.

Messenger 6 uses both the logitech video and the old style video. You can
access the old style by selecting "start a video conference". Both have been
improved.
