You can just delete the C drive partition if you have
nothing important on it, which will make it part of the D
drive, then reassign the drive letter, changing D to C.
This doesn't work if you are trying to run multiple
operating systems since the boot information will be on
the C partition and your computer won't boot.
But the best thing to do is delete all your partitions
and reinstall windows xp on a clean formatted hard drive.
The hard way is always the safest way.
