This is getting to be a standard reply... :-)
Make sure something is not causing a problem at shut down
(Causing a serious error) and your computer is just doing
what it thinks it should.(When XP encounters a serious
error, that would cause a previous OS to hang at a "blue
screen of death", XP automatically restarts.)
To check for this problem, disable the "automatically
reboot" by going into System properties (Start> Control
Panel> System) and then going to the 'advanced' tab. Look
for the section "startup and recovery", go to the settings
button in that section, then look for the check in
automatically reboot... remove it.
Now go test it. Does it give you a stop message now
instead of rebooting?
It could be caused by anything, and a clean installation
of Windows would be the best resolution.
