How can I retrieve Windows Messenger conversations?

Is there a way I can retrieve my chat conversations I've
had with my contacts on my windows messenger? Are my
conversations stored somewhere I can look them up?

Greetings,

Unfortunately Messenger doesn't automatically save conversations. As such, as soon as you
close the window, whatever you've typed (or received) is gone -- there is no "temporary file"
or anything like that..

However, for future reference, using a third-party utility (like Messenger Plus,
http://www.msgplus.net), will automatically save your conversations for you.
