Hi,
Just over the last week or so my voice stopped working in
msn messenger. My mic works fine in all other programs
and games. I can record sounds and all but when I try to
talk to someone over msn messenger they dont hear a
voice. The green bars light up like it is working but it
doesnt. Please Help...

Greetings,
Firstly, make sure you've gone through the Audio (and Video) Tuning Wizard in Messenger. To
do so, open the main Messenger window, click the Tools menu, then Audio Tuning Wizard, then
go through the wizard to select and test your camera.
If you still have problems after that, the problem most likely is on your contacts' side,
since they're the ones that can't hear you, which usually means they're somehow blocking it.
Both of you might try turning off the Windows XP Internet Connection Firewall -- click Start,
then click the Control Panel. If you're in category view click Network and Internet
connections then click Network Connections. Right click your network/internet connection,
then click Properties. Click the Advanced Tab, and verify that the Internet Connection
Firewall is unchecked. As well, if your contact is using some type of third-party firewall
(ZoneAlarm, Norton Internet Security, etc.) have them make sure that Messenger is set to
"Permit All", "Allow All" or "Medium" (ZoneAlarm).

Do you have an intel nic card? Did voice used to work
but now doesn't or did it never work? Have you updated
your nic cards drivers lately?
