Hi there.
Something strange just happened to me. I logged into my Windows
Messenger, and I had no contacts anymore. All was gone. Now I'm trying
to find out what's happened, has anyone else experienced this? I know
for sure that I did not delete all my contacts myself..

Greetings,
It may just be that your contact list cache was damaged. If this is the case, you may be
able to get your contacts back by doing the following -- close Messenger (right-click its
icon and choose Exit), then open the registry (click Start, Run, enter "regedit.exe" and
click OK), then go to (they look like small folders) My
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Mess engerService. Click the MessengerService
key, then click the small '+' next to it. You'll then see GroupStateCache, and ListCache.
Click GroupStateCache, then go to the Edit menu, and then choose Delete. Say "Yes" to
confirm the operation. Do the same for the ListCache key.
Then restart Windows Messenger (click Start, All Programs, Windows Messenger) and see if your
contacts have returned.
