Having recently installed a Dell Truemobile Wireless
Router, I now find I can't make video or voice
connections using Messenger. I have been advised that the
build in firewall requires to be configured to allow
incoming traffic on UDP ports 5004-65535, but just how do
I do that ? Any one help!

Greetings,
You can allow incoming traffic on every port, and this still won't work unless the router has
built-in support for Messenger (as far as I know, none of the Dell-branded routers do) or
have support Universal Plug and Play (UPnP).
Assuming you're using the Truemobile 1184, you might try installing the latest firmware (to
either see if it adds UPnP support, or does add some type of built-in Messenger support),
unfortunately Dell doesn't document their firmware releases.

To answer your original question (and to see if you do have some sort of built-in support),
firstly go into your routers configuration (http://192.168.2.1 in your browser, login and
password should be "admin", assuming you haven't changed it), click "Advanced Settings", then
go to Port Forwarding Settings, you may just want to put your computer's internal IP into the
DMZ (that is, everything comes to you, which is nearly what 5004-65535 is), this should be
listed under "ALL" in the routers configuration (unfortunately Dell does not provide
screenshots for me to be more specific).
