I've been trying to delete whatever I know is not needed
(and I'm afraid I'll delete things that are needed), but I
just don't seem to be getting anywhere. When I delete
emails they end up in a deleted file. When I go into that
file and delete everything, I just don't seem to get much
free space. Something keeps filling up the hard drive and
I'm not computer educated enough to figure this out. Can
you help?

1) Empty your recycle bin
2) Go to Start Control Panel internet options, Click Delete files, Check include
offline content, click ok, go take a long hot shower. (Seriously this will take
a while)
3) Delete Cookies
4) Clear History
5) Use Explorer and go to c:\windows\temp Delete all files and Subdirectories
Go to c:\Settings nd Documents\your user id\temp and delete all files and
subdirectories
Emtpy recycle bin
Do you have an Anti virus? HAve you scanned your system to ensure you do not
have a virus?
If not go to www.housecall.trendmicro.com and use their online scanner

Run Disk Cleanup and when it has scanned and has a list of junk to get rid
of, go to the More Options tab first and click of the Clean Up button in the
System Restore area. This gets rid of all old System Restore points on your
HD which can be a significant amount.
