A few weeks ago, I had a problem with Internet Explorer 6, and
the tech support department of the manufacturer of my PC suggested
reinstalling IE. I downloaded it from MS, but the setup program
refused to install it, even though I had made the changes to the
registry that MS recommends. Setup said there was already later
version of IE installed, and it couldn't install another.
I solved the problem I was having with IE by doing a repair
install of XP, but now every time I start my computer, a window pops
up saying that "a previous installation did not complete", and asking
if I want to continue. If you continue, you just get the same message
saying that it can't install IE because a later version is already
present. If you cancel, the window goes away, but it'll pop up again
the next time I restart the machine.
How can I get rid of this setup window????
