I have a very strange problem, I left my nokia 8810 mobile phone next
to my pc monitor for about 24 hrs both were switched on, when I came
in earlier today the pc monitor had developed a green lcd tint of my
nokia 8810 it's almost like someone came and spread the greenish tint
of my nokia lcd display all over my monitor, colours on webpages e.t.c
that are green now appear light bluish, colours that are orange now
appear pink, is this some kind of radiation? I have tried to get the
monitor back to factory settings but there is no option for this, only
options available are contrast, brightness, v size, v position, H
position, H size, trapezoid, Recall, rotation, degauss, and v
pincushion no settings for getting it back to the factory state,
switching it off and on from the mains switch has no effect on this
strange tint, degaussing has no effect so does recall.
Has anyone any experience of this, is this permanent?
thanks for any help

I have seen similar effects on other screens and all have eventually gone
away. However, I have not seen any situation where the source was left next
to a monitor for that length of time. I would suggest moving your phone far
away from your monitor, looking for anything else near the monitor that may
be causing the problem (speakers, non-computer electronics, etc.), and
moving them away as well. If after a while (at least a couple of days), the
tint has not changed, then it very well may have become a permanent problem
and you will have to replace the monitor.

Use the degausse feature of your monitor a couple of times a day for the
next couple of days until the problem goes away. You monitor is an
elctomagnetic device, as is your cellphone. you should not mix
electromagnetic devices unless they are shielded or are designed to work
together.

Your monitor should have a button or option where when pushed, you hear a
click in the back of the monitor and the screen starts shaking rapidly. A
click will then happen again and the screen will stop shaking.
Sometimes this happens when you turn on your monitor automatically or find
the button, and press it regularly over the next few days.

This function is used to remove screenburn and some effects of magnetic
fields.
I have heard of some devices that 'de-magnitise' the screen which tv repair
technicians use.
Try getting a screw driver and place the tip up to your screen and you will
notice the screen will change colour. This is because of the magnetic fields
adjusting the cathode ray guns which fire electrons at the screen to present
colours. If these guns become dis aligned then you will notice the screen
will almost completly change colour. Your cell phone would have made this
effect.

You will have to buy a new monitor if the problem persists.

Use degauss..........
The electromagnetic radiation from mobile phones when they are in use are
dangerous not only for your monitor, but for your head too. They use
microwaves to connect to the network.
Very similar microwaves are used for cooking food. You can imagine what
happens to your brain cells. Use a handfree, and dont have that device
anywhere near your computer.

This happens ONLY when the screwdriver is magnetized (in order to hold on to
screws) not with a non magnetized screwdriver or any non magnetized metal.
