Hi there,

I'm trying to connect to my girlfriend's computer running
win XP home (without sp1...she's not too computer
literate) to have remote access and remote assistance. I
have a completely updated win xp pro on my machine, but
when we try to connect, she sends me a request for remote
assistance and I accept...but then nothing happens.

I'm also having the no video issue too and have read and
tried a bunch of different solutions but none have worked.
I'll visit that if and after I can get the remote
assistance to work.

Thanks very much in advance.

Hi Matt,

She's probably using ICF/any other firewall. Instruct her to disable her
firewall.

Edward,
I guess that's why your a pro at this. Yeah actually
before I got this message I had her run the cable modem
straight into her computer, and of course it worked. Can
you recommend a good router for her to get so we don't
have this probelem anymore?

Thanks so much,
-Matt
