If this is the wrong group, please direct me to the right one.
WINxp home, Pent. 4, 512 ram. No new software or hardware. Norton running
all the time, zone alarm pro running all the time.

Last week, for some unknown reason the following happened to Outlook2000.
1. Customize outlook today button does not work.
2. When the inbox is clicked, outlook goes to the inbox, but none of
the messages show in the top box.
3. If I click on the dropdown list and go to any other folder, that
folder contents is displayed. If I then click on the inbox folder, the
contents magically appear.

There are no filters turned on. View = all messages.

Any Ideas???

The first thing I would do is use the 'detect and repair' option in the
'help' drop down menu...

I did that and it didn't make any diff. I even removed Office 2000 and
reinstalled it. No diff. The problem appears to be in the pst file,
which of course contains hundreds of emails, and contacts.

Read Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 820575 :OL2000:You Cannot Customize
Outlook Today After You Install Chital Update 813489 for Internet Explorer.
I had the same problem and the fix described in this article corrected it.

Thanks Don, That fixed the customize problem.
I also found an office entry had been placed in the startup folder. After I
deleted it, the inbox came back too.
