Hi On reading through the Software Insterlation Guide for
my digital camera/CAMEDIA Master CD-ROM.sECTIO 3
INSTALLING THE SOFT WARE / Installing quick time 5.0.
Says,:- "Disable any virus protection software installed
on your computer befor proceeding with the installation"
Why do I need to do this ? and if I need to do this how
do I do it ? This P.C. has XP
Thank you in advance ( where is spellcheck ? )

When a virus attacks a system, it creates, replaces, deletes files and makes
new entries into the registry.
When you install a new program, it creates, replaces, deletes files and
makes new entries into the registry.
If the anti-virus program detects the program installer as viral activity,
it could prevent it from working properly and corrupt the installation.
How you disable the anti-virus program depends on which program you have
installed. Consult the documantation for the program.
