DIV Games Studio with XP

I have just baught a new PC and I have an old piece of
software called DIV games studio that runs in MS-DOS. I
am having problems getting it to run (I have tried
compatibility mode). The vendor just tells me to install
another operating system like Windows 98 but I don't want
to go out and pay for another as I already have XP home
edition.
