While looking at a site I noticed that a dialler was being installed. I
thought I had stopped it but since the my pc has been dialling the internet
on its own. I have looked at the system log and remote users were logging on
and they seemed to do various things including changing my clock. Installed
was some thing called optimiser.exe and actalert.exe. I have deleted these
but how can I be sure the whole thing has gone.

Disable these dialers from the startup menu. Run adaware to remove them.

Thank you for the feed back. On investigating this further I have found that
some one remotely logged on to my PC and did various things like create a
new user called owner, he managed to copy all of my files and docs in to
this user. I have ran the adaware software but can I be sure that the system
is now secure.
