Hi,

I'm using IE6 with Windows XP which usually works fine, but the last
couple of days, I haven't been able to connect to https URIs: I just
get a 404 error. I haven't changed anything that I can think of, it's
just suddenly started happening.

Please could someone suggest a way that I might be able to correct
this problem?

Thanks,
Joe

Two things:

1) Try cleaning out your temporary internet files cache. Then try going
there. If it still happens, click refresh and see if it comes up.

2) Are you referring to EVERY secure site or just one or some? See, there
could be something blocking it that has changed your HOSTS file. Some progs
you install such as Kazaa Lite will actually do that unfortunately and block
you out of sites more by accident than design. So, try downloading Adaware
from www.lavasoft.de and running it to see if you have something on your
machine you didn't know was installed on it and see if it will get rid of
it. You would also be best to download Spybot from security.kolla.de at the
same time and run it after Adaware has finished in order to make sure that
all is off your machine.
